Avantika Velho

Avantika Velho is a designer and researcher working across biomaterials, biotechnology, and regenerative design. Velho is co-founder of BIOPOD Co. and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Design Engineering at Harvard. Previously, she conducted biomaterials and biosensing research at Northeastern University’s BioInteractive Design Lab and served as Lead Biodesigner and Strategist at Terreform ONE, developing projects spanning living architecture, regenerative systems, and bio-inspired technologies.

Velho holds a BFA in Industrial Design from RISD and has received recognition including the Rachel Carson Environmental Award, Maharam STEAM Fellowship, and Hyundai Research and Innovation Fellowship. Her work has been presented at international research conferences and featured in publications including Dezeen, Designboom, and Fast Company.
