Hye Jun Youn

Hye Jun Youn is a Ph.D. candidate in the Tangible Media group at the MIT Media Lab, where her research bridges design and material science. Youn explores shape-morphing materials and AI-based computational design to create new forms of tangible interaction and expand access to emerging technologies for artists, students, and designers.

Youn is a LEGO Papert Fellow and has previously conducted research at Harvard SEAS and the Harvard GSD. Her work has been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, Red Dot, iF Design, and Core77, and presented at conferences including CHI, UIST, and TEI.
