Marcelo Coelho is director of the MIT Design Intelligence Lab (opens in new tab) and faculty at the MIT Department of Architecture (opens in new tab). His work explores how people physically interact with computation, creating new forms of expression and collaboration between human and machine intelligence.
Coelho’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Ars Electronica, Times Square, and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Ceremonies, and has received two Prix Ars Electronica awards, the Design Miami/ Designer of the Future Award, and Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Award. He holds a doctorate from the MIT Media Lab.
